1895 Ward's Scientific giant squid model

This papier-mache Architeuthis model was bought as a set with the giant Pacific octopus model. They were purchased for the 1895 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago and, with many other models and specimens purchased for the exhibition, formed the basis of the Field's inaugural collection. The Architeuthis was repainted in the 1990's.
